Wildlife filmmakers David and Carol Hughes enter their own film as they focus on some intriguing little beasts in South Africa's Kruger National Park.

They offer a glimpse into the tiny realm of insects and other invertebrates, and explain why these small-fry are the most important creatures of the ecosystem not just the bizarre, little oddities that we love to hate.

In lovingly filmed vignettes a world is revealed that is usually overlooked in the excitement of the search for big animals. We see the little animals as the movers and shakers of the veld who till the soil, polinate the begetation, clear away dung and carcases, and who are often the major predators and grazers on the land.

Without them the bush and savannah of Africa, as we know it, would not be the same. We ignore them at our peril.
